2012 Hyundai i30

2012 Hyundai i30
2012 Hyundai i30
There's been a lot of confusion lately about the spy pictures of the next 2012 Hyundai i30. To elaborate, many readers on various websites and forums supported that the scoops may be showing a Kia. Thanks to some additional work from our spy photographers, we can now put the brand speculations to rest. What you see here is indeed a Hyundai, with this being proved by the brand's logo on the alloy wheels as well as the typical Hyundai styling of the interior.

2012 Hyundai i30
Okay, so we've established it's a Hyundai, but could it be the new five-door Accent? Well, we doubt it because we saw the new Accent hatch at last month's Montreal Auto Show in Canada and it looks quite different inside and out. So that leaves us with the 2012 Hyundai i30 (and yes, our spy photographer assured us it was larger than the...i20).
With that out of the way, let's see what we can find out from these spy photos. Although the prototype is carefully bagged up, it's pretty clear that the new i30 will be a sleeker proposal to look at with an edgier exterior design than the current model.
As mentioned previously, our scoopers also managed to snap the first photos of the i30's interior and as you can see, the styling is very close to the Veloster coupe. The dashboard has swoopy lines darting to and fro, a pronounced center console and a pair of deeply set instrument gauges. However, instead of the Veloster's three-spoke steering wheel, the five-door hatchback gets a more conventional four-spoke version.
What lies under the hood remains a mystery for now, but buyers should expect a choice of four-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines including the new 1.6-liter petrol with direct-injection and around 140-ponies.

2011 Toyota Hilux

  2011 Toyota Hilux
The new Toyota Hilux is here and it comes with new body panels, new audio systems, anti-skid brakes as standard across the range … and best of all, some price reductions on on SR and SR5 variants.
Oh and in a vehicle that already had 32 variants Toyota has added three more to the range but at the same time they cut four V6 petrol variants from the range … so there’s a wider range to choose from but not as wide as it could have been.
It would be easy to get bogged down in the technical details of all those 35 variants so instead we’ll just look at the three basic models in the new Toyota Hilux range.

Engine and transmission
The new Toyota Hilux comes with a choice of three engines ranging from an inline four-cylinder and V6 petrol engine to a four-cylinder common-rail turbo-diesel.
The four-cylinder petrol engine is Toyota’s 2.7-litre 2TR-FE that comes with variable valve technology and twin counter-rotating balancing shafts along with a torsional rubber damper in the crankshaft pulley to reduce noise and vibration.
2011 Toyota Hilux
Maximum power from this engine is 116kW at 5,200rpm and maximum torque is 240Nm at 3,800rpm. Toyota has matched this engine to a five-speed manual or four-speed auto transmission and that combination gives 11.0L/100km for the manual and 11.5L/100km for the auto for the combined cycle
The V6 petrol engine is Toyota’s 4.0-litre 1GR-FE that comes with variable valve technology. Maximum power for this engine is 175kW at 5,200rpm and maximum torque is 343Nm at 2,400rpm for the manual version and 376Nm at 3,800rpm for the five-speed automatic. Fuel consumption is 12.6L/100km for the manual and 11.8L/100km for the auto.
The diesel engine is Toyota’s 1KD-FYV DOHC 16-valve unit that’s turbocharged and intercooled. It delivers 126kW of power at 3,600rpm and 343Nm of torque between 1,400 and 3,400rpm.

2011 Toyota Corolla

2011 Toyota Corolla
2011 Toyota Corolla
Japanese companies bread and butter model showed a weak man with no equipment upgrades. After 2011 Toyota iQ, 2011 Toyota Corolla Facelift will be available in the U.S. in December. The most striking change is the visual front-end that a new bumper, grille and headlights will. Behind that is a redesigned rear lights and revised again and again to cover the sky registration. Other 2011 Toyota Corolla Facelift changes are slightly larger side mirrors, classification engine, which promises to improve air quality under this car and new wheels.
The 2011 Toyota Corolla Facelift model in these images is a standard body kit that front spoiler, rocker moldings and rear spoiler adds top and bottom.

2011 Toyota Corolla
2011 Toyota Corolla Interior upgrades are even more subtle is limited to a new location in color and design, covering a wide range of dashboard and doors, plus a new three-spoke sport steering wheel in the 2011 Toyota Corolla S.
There are no changes under the hood. 2011 Toyota Corolla is offered with a standard 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine 132 hp at 6,000 rpm and 128 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm produces. Min. According to Japanese manufacturers, 1.8-liter engine EPA estimated fuel economy rating of 28 mpg city and 35 mpg highway with five-speed manual transmission and 26 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with four-speed automatic.
Toyota has made no mention of X-ray images all 2011 Toyota Corolla comes with a 158Hp 2.4-liter engine, so we’ll have to wait and see if it was crossed out of range or when they return in 2011. Like 2010 Toyota Auris, 2011 Toyota Corolla will be available in three levels, base model Corolla LE, and S, all powered by the 1.8L engine.

2011 Toyota Yaris

2011 Toyota Yaris
2011 Toyota Yaris
The 2011 Toyota Yaris is one of a handful of models from Toyota that were recalled due to handling problems. With the reputation of Toyota, there are only two things you will expect – a perfectly working car or something that should be recalled. Fortunately, the 2011 Yaris is something that should be praised because it works well and offers something great to car owners.
The 2011 Yaris is a hatchback with very impressive mileage. It’s rate at 29mpg on city which is very impressive in its class. It can even reach up to 25mpg in an open road which pushes the boundary of an earth friendly vehicle. Of course, it comes with some disadvantages such as a lack of power but hatchbacks are built for city driving and the mileage alone is a very impressive feature.
But aside from mileage, the hatchback is built for family-type handling. The 2011 Yaris is offered in two transmission modes – the five gear manual transmission or the four gear automatic transmission. Either way, handling is a breeze in this vehicle. And because of the physical makeup of a hatchback, storing items for a long haul is not a problem.
If there’s one thing that should be criticized about the car, it is its slightly cramped seating. The seats are pushed forward so that additional space could be added in the back. But with a little bit of adjustment, this should not be a problem. Another concern is that the base price ($13,655 - $14,415) comes with very basic amenities and add-ons could be costly.

2011 Honda Odyssey

2011 Honda Odyssey
2011 Honda Odyssey
Last week, Honda surprised the automotive industry with the debut of the 2011 Odyssey minivan. Ready to hit dealerships this fall with 15 cup holders, the 2011 Honda Odyssey has a lower roofline (-1.6 inches), a wider track (+1.4 inches) and overall improved aerodynamics that help increase fuel-economy.
Speaking of fuel-economy, the 2011 Honda Odyssey won’t be offering a fuel-efficient 4-banger likes its closest rival, the 2011 Toyota Sienna. However, its important to note that Honda says that the Odyssey’s 3.5L V6 engine with 3-mode variable cylinder management helps the Touring Elite model achieve an estimated 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.

2011 Honda CR-Z Review

2011 Honda CR-Z
2011 Honda CR-Z
2011 Honda CR-Z U.S. EPA ratings are 31 miles per U.S. gallon (7.6 L/100 km, 37 mpg-imp) in the city and 37 miles per U.S. gallon (6.4 L/100 km, 44 mpg- imp) for highway with manual transmission. The model of the CVT has a rating of 35 miles per U.S. gallon (6.7 L/100 km, 42 mpg-imp) in the cycle of city driving and 39 miles per U.S. gallon (6.0 L/100 km, 47 mpg-imp) highway.

2011 Honda CR-Z
By comparing the fuel economy on the cousin of the CR-Z, according economy.gov fuel, gasoline was in 1988: Honda CR-X, an EPA-rated 50 miles per U.S. gallon (4, 7 l/100 km, 60 mpg-imp) city and 56 miles per U.S. gallon (4.2 l/100 km, 67 mpg-imp) on the road. However, according to the EPA revised the procedures for 2008, said CR-X is 42 miles per U.S. gallon (5.6 l/100 km, 50 mpg-imp) city and 51 miles per U.S. gallon (4, 6 l/100 km, driving 61 mpg-imp) highway.

2011 Honda Civic

2011 Honda Civic

2011 Honda Civic

The 2011 Honda Civic is returning to the market basically unchanged from the 2010 model. However, there were no significant changes the needed to be made because the Honda Civic is considered the one car that other manufacturers are trying to compete with since it offers such good engineering and reliability for consumers.

The styling of the 2011 Honda Civic keeps with the artsy design that Honda has implemented on past Civic models, they kept with the nose and tail end changes that they implemented on new Civics starting in 2009. The Civic also sports a severely raked-back windshield which helps give the Honda Civic more aerodynamics. What is so notable about the styling of the Civic is that it has many of those classy touches that Honda uses on its more upscale brand Acura, meaning that you are getting a great deal on a car that is well worth the price.

2011 Honda Civic

The mechanics of the 2011 Honda Civic keeps with what earlier models have used, except there are less 2011 Honda Civics that will have a manual transmission. The models DX, LX, and the upscale EX lines will offer the typical 1.8 liter engine with 140 horsepower and will offer a 128 pound of torque per foot. The Honda Civil EX-L sedans, EX sedans and EX-L coupe are only going to be available in automatic transmissions, which are a change from the previous model year.

2011 Honda Civic

The sportier 2011 Honda Civics, the Si coupe and sedan will have 2.0 liter engines, slightly bigger than other models that will offer 197 horsepower and 139 pound-feet of torque. Plus, they had the exclusive six speed manual transmission that is able to give drivers to get the full race car feel with half the price of other cars that are designed for this specific reason.

The 2011 Honda Civic also offers the Hybrid option that many people will once again take advantage of because of the benefits to the environment as well as their wallet. The hybrid will come as a sedan only that has a 1.3 liter gas engine accompanied by an electric motor. The electric motor will be able to take you short distances, however, is more or less there to help the main gas engine to save more gas.

2011 Honda Civic

What changes can people expect with the price of Honda for the new 2011 models? The price difference is not much really, a low $150 will be the difference between a 2010 Honda Civic and a 2011 Honda Civic. However, the cost of the 2011 Honda Civic will really depend on the dealer and the consumer's negotiation skills in the end.

What is most notable about the changes to the 2011 Honda Civic models is that the newer models have lost some fuel mileage when compared to the 2010 Honda Civics. It is estimated that the 2011 Honda Civic will get around 40 city miles per gallon, while getting 43 interstate miles per gallon. Te 2010 models offer 40 miles per gallon when traveling in city traffic, while the interstate miles per gallon were around 45.

Every 2011 Civic will come equipped with anti-lock brakes, a tilt steering wheel, adjustable drivers seat and power windows. However, to get those features such as heated and/or leather seats, alloy wheels, ability to have navigation on board and other extras will have to step up from the base model 2011 Civic. All of the extras will cost the consumer. In fact, having an on board navigation system can set the person back an additional two thousand dollars.

In addition, a buyer can be certain that they are getting top of the line when it comes to comfort, as all models of the 2011 Honda Civic line still have the independent suspension that promises that the car handles and rides as well as any luxury vehicle out there on the market and even the hardest drivers will appreciate the handling of the Civic.

All in all, Honda Civic has kept with what people expect from the Civic with the 2011 models. They are priced reasonably and competitive with other cars that are in the same category, and give buyers the options to have all those extras that sets the Civic apart from the other manufacturers out there and making it what once again one of the best smaller car on the market.

2011 Honda Jazz Hybrid gets 52 mpg, still not coming to U.S.

2011 honda jazz hybrid
Honda has dropped some more pictures and details of the new Jazz Hybrid, which will be making its world debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show later this week… but first – let’s review what we already knew.
A hybrid version of the Honda Fit (that’s what we call it on the stateside), the Honda Jazz Hybrid is powered by the same 1.3L i-VTEC gasoline engine mated to the company”s IMA hybrid system and a CVT gearbox that is found in the Insight and the CR-Z.
Honda now tells us that the Jazz Hybrid:
  • Retains the flexible Magic Seats.
  • Gets 104 g/km of CO2 emissions.
  • Gets an improved fuel economy offers up to 64.2 mpg (52 mpg in U.S. terms).
The Honda Jazz hybrid will go on sale in some European markets in the early part of 2011. Honda has no plans to offer the car in the United States or Canada.

HONDA JAZZ WITH HYBRID TECH: AS PRACTICAL AS EVER – WITH LOWER EMISSIONS
Making its debut at the Paris Motor Show this week, the hybrid version of the Jazz features Honda’s innovative petrol-electric IMA system and retains the practical characteristics found in the supermini, while lowering emissions and improving fuel economy.
“¢ World”s first B-segment car with hybrid technology
“¢ No compromise ““ features all the practicality of the standard Jazz
“¢ Retains the flexible Magic Seats
“¢ Up to 831 litres of boot space
“¢ 104 g/km of CO2 emissions*
“¢ Improved fuel economy offers up to 64.2 miles per gallon*
The Jazz will feature the same 1.3 litre i-VTEC as the Insight hybrid and despite its taller body shape, the new car has similar CO2 emissions of 104 g/km* – 21g/km less than the current lowest-emitting 1.2-litre petrol Jazz. As well as the environmental benefits, the cleaner emissions bring more affordable driving too: road tax exempt for the first year and just £20 a year after, the hybrid version of the Jazz will also be free from the London congestion charge.
“We think that a cleaner, more economical version of the Jazz will be a big hit with customers,” said John Kingston, Government Affairs and Environment Manager, Honda (UK). “The IMA hybrid technology is incredibly easy to use, owners don”˜t need to worry about plugging anything in to charge. It”˜s simply a case of filling up with petrol and driving on as normal.”
Like the Insight and Civic Hybrid models, the hybrid version of the Jazz will be capable of running on the electric motor alone under some medium and low speed conditions and this contributes to a combined fuel consumption figure of 64.2 mpg* – a 23 per cent improvement over the best-selling 1.4 ES model.
Honda has added this cleaner hybrid technology to the supermini while retaining the flexibility of its unique folding Magic Seats. The IMA battery pack and power control unit have been integrated in the area under the boot floor, keeping the normal boot area of 300 litres and allowing the Magic Seats to fold in the same manner as non-hybrid versions. This means that the seats still fold entirely flat to provide a surprising large boot space of 831 litres, or the seat bases can be folded to sit vertically to accommodate tall items within the car.
The Jazz with hybrid technology will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show and will go on sale in the UK in early 2011. Prices, homologated emissions levels and full specifications will be announced at a later date.

2012 Honda Accord
This year’s Geneva Auto Show had a special treat for auto fans as Honda unveiled it’s much awaited 2012 Honda Accord. Building on past success, Honda has proven that the 2012 Accord line will pose serious competition in the auto market.  Boasting refinements to both the exterior and interior design, Honda has also increased fuel efficiency and decreased CO2 output without jeopardizing the performance that Honda lovers have come to expect. The 2012 Honda Accord models are beautiful at first glance but a closer inspection reveals even more great additions.
2012 Honda Accord
Honda has proven, once again that beauty and functionality can work together to create a vehicle that will really turn heads.  The 2012 Honda Accord sports a reworked front grill which, while adding a certain element of class, also contains a reworked cooling system to make sure to the powerful engine is always running at peak efficiency.  The bumpers have been reworked to include improved front and tail lights and the premium models include bi-Xenon headlights with active cornering technology. These refinements continue to prove that the Honda Accord 2012 models haven’t sacrificed design for safety.
The 4.95 metre mid size sedan is almost full size by measure of its interior space and can easily  seat 5 occupants in spatial comfort. Boot space is large but hindered by the gooseneck hinges. The chassis set-up is dictated by a conventional double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension. It also gets a variable gear ratio steering system that should aid in-city manoeuvrability and high-speed stability. All four wheels feature disc brakes, be it 16-inch steel wheels or the optional 17 alloy wheels.
The Sedan earned a 5-star safety rating in each of NHTSA’s combined safety rating categories. Tagged safety features include 6 airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), ABS with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Active front restraints. The Accord also gets Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure that helps diffuse impact force in the event of a front collision, especially when SUVs are countered.
All models get steering mounted controls for audio and cruise control and a tilt and telescopic steering column. Other options include Bluetooth, 8-way full power driver’s seat adjustment, Active Noise Cancellation (V6 only), dual zone automatic air-conditioning, leather interiors, 6CD premium sound system with USB jack, auto dimming rear-view mirror and a smoked glass sunroof. The available Navigation system and rear view camera visuals are displayed on 8-inch screen that uses a jog dial for control. The very innovative i-Dual Zone Automatic Air-conditioner utilizes GPS sensors to adjust zone temperature according to the position of vehicle relative to the sun.
Honda hasn’t limited their design improvements to the exterior alone. When taking a look at the interior, auto fans will notice a stylish and modern new design that promises to make the 2012 Honda Accord a pleasurable ride for the driver as well.  The new Accord 2012 models have added beautiful dark silver door panels to the interior and have accented them with bright silver door handles.  The handbrake has received special attention from the Honda designers as well and now sports a beautiful bright silver finish.  Honda didn’t stop there as the gearshift, instrument panel and even the steering wheel have received special attention with a design upgrade.  The new Accord 2012 Type S models also boast a further refined interior with a luxurious new leather finish for the seating and door liners.
